My learning experience with ma’am at the IVYY Education Centre has truly been enriching and wholesome. Ma’am’s consistent support and guidance have certainly helped me reach my goal. Having seen a tremendous change in my grades gave me the confidence that I had earlier lost. The gradual improvement from 75% to 98 percentile gave me the required motivation making me realize my passion for the subject. Believe me or not, I used to get low marks in Chemistry. I didn’t know exactly why, but I knew one thing for sure: I needed help. Fortunately, I started taking Ma’am’s classes at the end of 9 IGCSE. And since then, my potentials in this subject were unlocked. After receiving exclusive notes and practice question papers from ma’am, I saw myself getting better at Chemistry. I realized I was lucky to have a teacher who could make this subject genuinely interesting, had solutions to all kinds of questions, had a high level of experience in dealing with the course and had a systematic approach. At the end of year, I had finally earned an A*. With the help of these classes, I was given the confidence to take Chemistry HL in IB and I know she would do her best to make each of us reach to the top.

The reason for my success in the IGCSE exams is solely because of the guidance of Ma’am. She’s an immensely supportive teacher who is always there to help her students no matter what the time is, and she encourages her students and prepares them to give their best performances in their exams. The resources she has shared with us denotes her vast experience and subject knowledge which is of immense help to students. My foundations in chemistry are strong due to her excellent teaching. Mam is a fantastic Chemistry tutor with profound expertise in Chemistry and experience in teaching the IB syllabus. What is so brilliant about her lessons is that she delivers the content clearly and systematically with her commendable charisma and addresses the nature of science concepts which is misconceived to be an uncertain and daunting aspect of the new chemistry syllabus. More so, she is well aware of the stressful life each IB student leads and hence, tailors her lessons to be interesting and enjoyable with inclusion of visual, auditory and tactile aspects through usage of videos and molecular model kits and not to mention the free chocolate milk shakes offered during her class. Studying at IVYY Education Centre was a wonderful experience and was pivotal in helping me to secure the high grades that I wanted. Classes cover concepts thoroughly, preparing us for the IB while introducing us to other related concepts that enhance our understanding of the topics. The tests conducted also challenge us to apply what we’ve learnt in different situations, rather than just rote learning. I joined ma’am’s tuition for help in Chemistry, just 6 months before my IBDP Board Examinations. I consider my achievement as a recognition, not only for my hard work and effort but also for the expert guidance she gave me throughout my last days of IBDP. Chemistry has never really been my favourite subject and I was never good at it. But studying under ma’am really helped me improve and understand concepts so much better than before. Her constant support at any and all times and patience really brought a change in my grades. She provided us with all possible kind of notes and question banks and made sure to make me keep practicing and was willing to set aside extra time with me to help me practice what I was weak at. IB chemistry covers a vast array of topics right from basic stoichiometry to complex organic chemistry, so to clearly understand even the smallest of concepts and to concertize the ideas using applications is essential and maam’s extensive classes and thought provoking questions in her exams help to build the resilience to tackle any IB questions. Her classes not only cover the breadth of topics in the IB curriculum but also cover the depths of the topic which helps a lot to understand a concept better. Her ability to link all the concepts together along with the new addition to syllabus, Nature of science elements to explain ideas, provided a very comprehensive approach towards answering even the trickiest of questions. Her constant support over the two years, not only with academics but also with the Individual investigatory project and with the whole of IB itself served very useful to tackle the course inspite of the changes in the new syllabus. Although the IB Diploma is extremely challenging, I am thankful to have an ever-enthusiastic teacher like ma’am who alleviated my stress and boosted my confidence to face the challenging final exams.

I’ve always loved chemistry and been good at it, so I was quite keen on undertaking HL Chemistry. Imagine my dismay when I realized that Chemistry was no longer easy and fun! It required the understanding of tough, technical concepts and their applications in a variety of questions. It remained interesting, but the complexity of the subject and my consistent lower-than-expected grades in Chemistry wounded my self-esteem. Joining mam’s class soon set things straight. She teaches in an easy, understandable manner and often slips in concepts that are out of the IB syllabus but make our understanding of the subject more complete. Her fascinating lessons, innumerable practice workbooks and tough examination papers prepared me for IB Chemistry in a way I couldn’t have managed myself. I slowly regained my self-confidence and began enjoying chemistry with all my heart once more. I can never thank Latha mam enough for all her help and guidance that prepared us for the chemistry board examinations, despite the change in syllabus!

The Chemistry crash course that I attended during the course of my IB Diploma was truly a life-saver. I began the course with the most basic of knowledge about the subject, and by its completion, was confident in my ability to write the final exam that awaited. Thanks to the consistent support and guidance provided by my mentor, I was able to cope up with the immense pressure bought upon me while completing the diploma. I was guided and informed about every aspect of the programme, ranging from the Internal Assessments all the way to the theory regarding the subject, and underwent a rigorous practice course, where the materials provided were relevant and of great help in boosting my knowledge and confidence in Chemistry. We were drilled to perfection, yet were taught to keep an open mind as to attempt the varied and difficult questions that were posed to us. To add to the quality of the classes, they were also a fun and interactive experience, which meant that we were constantly immersed in the subject, and the classes were never lack- lustre. Overall, the crash course was a great learning experience that truly helped me bring out my potential in the subject, while maintaining the high standard of quality education required to complete the IB Diploma programme.

Dr Anoop has given me much guidance and helped me grasp the complexities of HL Chemistry with much ease and I am extremely grateful for her support and guidance. Passionate and dedicated to her teaching, she has instilled a strong love for chemistry within me as she taught me how to read beyond the material that was given in my textbooks and take a genuine interest in the subject matter at hand whilst excelling in academic exams. My name is Yu Changyong and I am from China as well as a recent IB graduate from Hwa Chong International School (HCIS). Knowing Dr. Anoop, gave me a brand new view of chemistry. She has always been one of my favorite teachers in my school years so far. Her common sense explanation has made all complication seem much easier to understand, and more importantly chemistry seemed much more fun when Dr. Anoop was teaching. Her patience in explaining “silly questions” motivated me to do much better in chemistry. Dr Anoop was a motherly figure to me during my time at HCIS. The IBDP was a tough program and many a time I would falter or face a seemingly impassable obstacle. It wasn’t just HL Chemistry that she taught me, but also valuable life lessons. It was easy to talk to her because she’d hear me out whenever I needed it the most. Of course there was the scolding and chasing of deadlines but there was also the comfort when I was down and the advice when I was lost. She was also committed to helping us excel in Chemistry, sacrificing time outside of school hours to give us extra classes and consultation times; all this while also juggling her other commitments to school and family. At the onset I want to express my sincere gratitude, thanks & appreciation to Ma’am who is my chemistry teacher, mentor & Coach.
I was struggling to understand chemistry concepts during my IGCSE. My parents reached out to Ma’am and requested to guide me. After the very first class, I really felt confident that I will be able to learn chemistry with a very strong foundation. Ma’am is very structured in her approach & teaches the concepts in an easily understandable manner. To top it up, she provided ample practice questions, customised practice books, mock papers and materials which were specifically crafted to give the best exposure to a variety of ideas and questions, helping me to develop my ability because of which I never felt that any questions given in the exam were surprise type. She would continuously be there for me, even during late hours to provide motivation, useful tips, advice and answer my last minute queries. I am very grateful to Latha ma’am for helping me adapt to the IB Chemistry curriculum! Her immense support and guidance are the key to how I could quickly grasp the concept of several taxing topics.
