Dr Latha Rani
M.Sc (Analytical Chem), Ph.D
After completing Bachelor’s in Mathematical Sciences and higher studies (Master’s in Chemistry and as Research Scholar) from Mysore University where I topped the class, I discovered my love for teaching which led me to establish WWW. IVYY.ORG, a research – based learning centre for International Baccalaureate (IBDP) and International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Chemistry.
My first experience for over 7 years was with multinational companies like Glaxo Smithkline as a Chemist in Quality Assurance, at Indo Global Spices as R & D Scientist and other reputed Food & Beverages Industry, Perfumes & Essences as a Chemist. I developed passion to inspire young minds in Chemistry with hands on approach. The passion to share industrial knowledge with students to make the subject interesting created the spark in me to start a small laboratory. Demonstrating simple and interesting experiments to connect theory with practical skills to neighbourhood students was the milestone that propelled my teaching journey.
I joined New Horizon Public School (Bangalore) as a teacher, worked at colleges as a lecturer and kept private tutoring in the evenings intact to satisfy my ever lasting quest for Chemistry and to interact with young minds.
My teaching journey brought me to Singapore in 2006. I worked as a teacher at Global Indian International School and then moved to Hwa Chong International School as Head of Senior School for IBDP. I had to wear different hats as a Teacher, Centre Examiner, Counsellor, and Curriculum Development expert at Hwa Chong International School. This experience exposed me to different areas of education – such as administration, curriculum development, project implementation and management, organizing laboratory activities in addition to counselling students.
With over 17+ years of teaching and mentoring 3000+ students from International Schools in Singapore and those globally from Shanghai, Hongkong, Norway, Canada India and other countries, specializing as an Exam Trainer, Exam Prep Program has become a signature event at IVYY.
IVYY has become a much sought after centre in Singapore as well as globally to look out for IBDP, GCSE – EDXCEL and IGCSE Chemistry needs for students who want to gain expertise in the subject. For Internal Assessments and other Course work in IBDP Chemistry, IVYY stands out as a top education centre.
Decades of experience in teaching, Industry and research has given me the edge to take up challenges and strive for excellence in Chemistry to train young minds and create the spark in them.
